How do you measure your progress toward your goals?
That is what this blog is about…
When you look at where you are, and then where you want to be, you will see a gap. Whether that gap is small or large, how to close that gap is the topic of this email and post. Business coach Dan Sullivan explains how to close the gap.
By the way, almost all of my emails are converted to social media posts, so you have more than one way to consume the content, and my very wise words.
How you manage the gap has an impact on your happiness and well-being. Beware of the distance between where you are and your goal. Do not let it create a feeling of inadequacy because it only measures your movement toward the goal.
You do this by shifting your focus from the goal or outcome to the daily actions you can take toward the accomplishment of your goal.
Track your progress by measuring the internal metrics, the things you can control. These can be the calls you make, the writing you do, or the small steps you take in the direction you want to go.
When I started my first book I celebrated writing an outline, speaking to another author for input and ideas, getting a chapter edited, etc.
“It takes a village.” Just like raising a child, this is not a do-it-by-yourself project. The self-made millionaire is a fantasy. No one does anything great by themselves.
Get a friend, a co-worker, your partner, a coach, or someone who has already done what you want to support you. It helps to have people around you who can encourage you and provide helpful, constructive feedback and ideas. It also enables you to stay committed and focused on the process.
Who can you reach out to for support on your goals?
To Your Prosperity,
